Australian authorities have uncovered and seized significant assets as part of a major investigation into alleged fraud targeting the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The Australian Government’s Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT), working alongside multiple agencies, executed search warrants in Queensland as part of “Operation Benz.” During the operation, investigators seized cash, gold, silver, electronic devices, and cryptocurrency linked to suspected fraudulent NDIS claims.
The investigation was launched after the NDIA identified suspicious claims for services that were allegedly never provided. Authorities also revealed that millions of dollars in assets may be subject to confiscation under proceeds of crime laws as investigations continue.
Officials say the coordinated crackdown highlights ongoing efforts to protect public funds and ensure the integrity of the NDIS for Australians who rely on it most.
Investigations are still ongoing and no charges have been laid at this stage.
