The NDIA has opened consultations on pricing for the NDIS, asking participants, providers and the broader disability community to share their views ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 Annual Pricing Review. This is the first time the agency is publicly identifying areas of focus for the review — giving all stakeholders a chance to contribute targeted feedback on how supports are priced.
According to the agency, the review will concentrate on five core areas: disability-support-worker supports, therapy supports, support coordination, plan management, and social, community and civic participation. The aim is to ensure that price limits balance value for participants with the sustainability of a diverse and high-quality provider market.
Why the Review Matters
Each year, the NDIS undergoes this evidence-based process to see whether the current price settings still support participant outcomes, maintain provider viability, and uphold a well-functioning support market. The current review also explores whether more differentiated pricing could better reflect the diversity of supports, delivery contexts and participant needs.
With recent cost pressures and shifts in service demand, these conversations are especially important to ensure the continued sustainability of NDIS supports. The review has been fast-tracked to allow sufficient time for participants and providers to adjust ahead of any changes.
Participants and providers are encouraged to share their real-world experiences. For example: are the current rates sufficient to deliver quality supports? Are therapy services, mobility aids, support coordination, or community participation receiving fair funding? Does plan management and support worker funding reflect actual costs and living expenses? What about the flexibility needed for diverse needs and remote or regional service delivery?
Community feedback may influence how price limits are set for these key support categories and could lead to more tailored pricing structures that better match individual needs while preserving provider viability.
How to Participate & Next Steps
Consultation opened on 27 November 2025 and will run for two months, closing on 8 February 2026. Submissions can be made via the official NDIS Engage portal.
Alongside the consultation, the NDIA plans to release a three-year pricing workplan in December — outlining expected reforms and providing stakeholders long-term clarity.
After the review, adjustments to price limits and service categories may be implemented, aiming to reflect market realities, cost pressures, and diversity of participant needs.
What’s at Stake
How the NDIS is priced impacts every facet of support — from therapy sessions to support coordination, plan management, and community inclusion services. For participants, fair pricing helps ensure support remains accessible and meaningful. For providers, sustainable rates support a stable workforce and consistent quality.
The review represents an important opportunity to shape the future of the NDIS: one that strives for fairness, flexibility and sustainability — for all participants, everywhere.
