Understanding the why behind behaviours of concern, and building a better quality of life. Our registered practitioners work with you, your family and your team to reduce distress, build skills and create calm, person-centred support that lasts.

NDIS positive behaviour support (PBS) helps people with disability who experience behaviours of concern. A registered behaviour support practitioner assesses the reasons behind the behaviour, writes a behaviour support plan, and trains carers and staff to support the person well. It is funded in Capacity Building under Improved Relationships.
Trusted by 50+ teams to empower people across Melbourne and Victoria

Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-based, person-centred approach. Behaviours of concern are almost always a form of communication, so instead of just managing the behaviour, we work to understand what is driving it, then change the things around the person to meet their needs and improve their quality of life.
It is funded in your Capacity Building budget under Improved Relationships, and delivered by NDIS registered behaviour support practitioners. It works closely with our daily supports, SIL and support coordination teams.

We assess what is happening, when and why, to understand the purpose behind behaviours of concern.
We write a tailored plan with proactive strategies that meet the person's needs and reduce distress.
We help the person build communication, coping and daily living skills so behaviours reduce naturally.
We coach families, carers and support workers so everyone responds calmly and consistently.
We work to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices, in line with NDIS Commission rules.
We monitor progress and update the plan as the person grows and their needs change.
A behaviour support plan is usually developed in two stages. The interim plan gets safe strategies in place quickly, while the comprehensive plan follows a full assessment.
A restrictive practice is anything that restricts a person's rights or freedom of movement to keep them or others safe, such as certain forms of physical, environmental or chemical restraint. The goal of positive behaviour support is always to reduce and eliminate these over time.
Restrictive practices are strictly regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. They must be included in a behaviour support plan, authorised as required in your state, and reported. Our practitioners follow these rules closely and put the person's rights and dignity first at all times.
Behaviour support is funded from your Capacity Building budget under Improved Relationships, so it does not reduce your Core supports.

Positive behaviour support is an evidence-based, person-centred approach for people with disability who experience behaviours of concern. Rather than only managing the behaviour, a registered practitioner works to understand what is driving it, then changes the environment and supports around the person to meet their needs and improve their quality of life.
Behaviour support plans must be written by an NDIS behaviour support practitioner who has been considered suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Sky Care Solutions delivers behaviour support through registered practitioners who follow the Commission's rules on behaviour support and restrictive practices.
A behaviour support plan sets out the reasons behind behaviours of concern and the proactive, person-centred strategies to support the person. It is usually developed in two stages: an interim plan that puts safe strategies in place quickly, and a comprehensive plan that follows a full functional assessment and focuses on quality of life and reducing restrictive practices.
A functional behaviour assessment is the practitioner's process of understanding a person's behaviour, looking at what happens before and after it, what it communicates, and what needs it is meeting. It is the foundation for a comprehensive behaviour support plan, because you cannot change a behaviour well until you understand its purpose.
Behaviour support is funded from your Capacity Building budget, under Improved Relationships. Because it is a Capacity Building support, it is funded on top of your Core supports and does not reduce your everyday support budget.
Under the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 (from 1 July 2026), specialist behavioural intervention support and behaviour management plan implementation are $252.99 per hour (National). Individual social skills development is $83.87 per hour, and intensive and complex behaviour support in the home is $79.60 per hour on a weekday.
A restrictive practice is anything that restricts a person's rights or freedom of movement to keep them or others safe. They are strictly regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, must be included in a behaviour support plan, authorised as required, and reported. The goal of behaviour support is always to reduce and eliminate them over time.
Behaviour support is for NDIS participants of any age who experience behaviours of concern that affect their safety, relationships or quality of life. It also supports the family, carers and support workers around them, giving everyone consistent, respectful strategies to follow.
At your planning meeting or plan review, describe the behaviours of concern and the impact they have, ideally with evidence such as a therapist or GP letter. Ask for behaviour support in your Capacity Building budget under Improved Relationships. We can help you prepare for that conversation.
